A THREE=VEHCLE collision resulted in the death of a baker and injury to his co-worker in Pulupandan town, Negros Occidental yesterday, September 23.

Traffic investigator Staff Sergeant Tirso Flores identified the fatality as Gilbert Dumasig, 28 of Purok Balongay in the town’s Barangay Palaka Norte.

Flores said Dumasig and his co-worker Richard Jamora, 18 years of Masbate City were rushed to the nearby Valladolid District hospital but the former died while being treated.

He said Jamora was transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City, where he is now confined.

Investigation showed that Joel Magalgalit, 30, of Barangay Canjusa in Pulupandan was driving his pick-up vehicle heading west on his way to the town proper when he decided to overtake a parked tricycle upon reaching the area of Barangay Bagtic.

However, Flores said Magalgalit side swiped the parked tricycle and collided with the approaching motorcycle of the victims.

He also said that due to the impact, the victims were thrown off from their motorcycle, adding that they were not wearing their helmets.

The traffic investigator noted that it is uncertain yet whether a settlement will take place.
