Trike driver shot dead by riding-in-tandem

A TRICYCLE driver was shot to death by two unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants on Sharina Heights Subdivision, Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City Thursday evening, June 17, 2021.

Police identified the fatality as Arnold Bayting, 44, of Purok Progreson, Barangay Taculing.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Bayting was driving his tricycle when two unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants fired at him around 9:50 p.m.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound on his head and died on the spot.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime an empty shell of unidentified firearm.

Investigation showed the victim had a female passenger when the gunman fired at him. The passenger was unhurt.

Investigators of Police Station 6 are still conducting further investigation to determine the motive and the identity of the suspects.

Annaliza Bayting, the sister of the victim, is also calling for justice to be served.

She said Arnold was a good brother and father and was also good to his neighbors.

Annaliza is asking the cooperation of the female passenger of her brother to help them to identify the perpetrators.
