Village watchman held for guns, ammos

A FORMER village chief and incumbent village watchman was arrested in a raid conducted in his house that resulted to recovery of firearms and ammunitions in Barangay Langka, San Fernando, Talisay City.

Arrested after the raid was Romulo Banhao, Jr., kagawad of the said barangay.

Police report stated that the raiding team conducted search at the house of the suspect by virtue of search warrant issued by Judge Estefanio Libutan Jr, of RTC branch 50 in Bacolod City.

Recovered during the raid includes one unit of caliber 45 pistol (Armscor), one unit KG9 sub machine gun, five pieces magazines for caliber 45 pistol, two pieces of magazines for KG9 sub machine gun, sixty-six pieces of live ammunition (FMJ) of caliber 45 pistol and 13 pieces of live ammunition (reload) of caliber 45 pistol.

The search, marking and inventory were witnessed by Brgy Councilors Jemelda V. Dianton and Meliton Eslabra.

Arrested person is now in the custody of Talisay City Police Office for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges. (TDE)
