Woman struck by lightning

A WOMAN was injured after she was hit by lightning inside their house at Barangay Busay, Bago City, Negros Occidental Thursday night, April 11.

Wounded was Isabelita Pateño, 59.

Police Captain Reynaldo Severino, deputy city police chief, said the victim and her family were at home at 8 p.m.

It was raining when the incident happened but her other family members were unharmed, Severino said.

She sustained burns on her body and was rushed to a hospital.

Then she was transferred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City because of her serious injuries.

Severino said the victim’s house was made of light materials but she was not directly hit.

We cannot really tell how she was struck by lightning, he added.
