Palace announces new appointments

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III has appointed new officials in various government posts, a Malacanang official said.

Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte made the announcement during her regular interview over government-run Radyo ng Bayan on Sunday.

The President signed the appointment letter of Gizela Gonzalez-Montinola as member of Board of Regents of the University of the Philippines. She has a term expiring on February 18, 2014.

He also signed the appointment letter of Renato Medua as deputy executive director of National Archives of the Philippines. He is co terminus with the appointing authority.

The Chief Executive likewise appointed Juan Borra Jr. as member of Board of Directors of Philippine Crops Insurance Corporation under the Department of Agriculture. Borra represents the farmers sector from Visayas.

Appointed as members of the Board of Commissioners of the Employees Compensation Commission were Stella Banawis, Miguel Varela and Carlito Robles.

The following were appointed as Schools Division Superintendent under the Department of Education: Elena Borcillo, Rowena Cacanindin, Myrna Castaños, Jonathan de la Peña, Priscilla de Sagun, Emelinda Duhaylungsod, Elizabeth Quesada, and Loreta Torrecampo.

Appointed as acting Schools Division Superintendent were Arturo Bayocot, Reynaldo Guillena, and Victoria Pamienta.

President Aquino also signed the appointment letters of Augustines Cepe, Rosario Ocera, Christy Epe, Helen Grace Go, Anthony Liobet, Reynaldo Mellorida, Edilberto Oplenaria, and Feliciano Tamondong Jr. as acting assistant schools division superintendent. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
