SPANISH striker Bienvenido Marañon scored a pair of crucial goals over the weekend to lift Ceres Negros FC a win from behind against Stallion Laguna FC in the ongoing Philippines Football League at Biñan Football Stadium.

Down 0-2 at the half, Stephan Schrock cut the deficit with a goal in the 55th minute on a header off a pass from Manny Ott.

Three minutes later, Marañon received a perfect pass from Mike Ott to the middle where he successfully nailed the equalizer off the post.

Ceres FC finally completed its comeback game with Marañon connecting a penalty in the 62nd minute following the untimely tackle inside the box from Dodong Villareal.

Meanwhile, Jan Melliza delivered Stallion’s goals in the ninth and 25th minutes.

Ceres FC Assistant Ian Treyes said that they were fortunate to pull a win and have not caused serious injury to the team despite the game’s intensity.

The Busmen will next face the Stallions on May 30 in the same venue.
