STAI youth shines in national tourneys

BACOLOD-BASED Sugarbowl Tenpin Association, Inc. Youth finished third overall in the recently-concluded 4-day Philippine Bowling Federation National Youth Championships 2019 at the Coronado Lanes in Starmall EDSA, Mandaluyong City.

Nicole Agujo of STAI averaged 181 pins to open their campaign with a title in the Singles Event followed by Tenpin Bowling Association of Makati (TBAM) bowlers Danielle Escolano (180) and Grace Gella (177).

A day earlier, Agujo also dominated the Juniors category with an average of 163 pins in the 2019 PBF Youth Annuals.

TBAM's Dale Lazo and Gella outplayed STAI's Cherry Ng and Alyana Abelada - 2,215 - 2,019 - for the Doubles title as TBAM's second team composed of Daphne Custodio & Escolano secured the third spot - 2,011.

Moreover, Kenneth Agujo of STAI also received the Most Improved Bowler of 2019 award after improving his performnace from 138 to 165 and won 1st runner-up during the 20th BTA Sinulog Open last year. (JSG)
