UV Green Lancers faces Naga College in PCCL reg’l finals

UNIVERSITY of Visayas Green Lancers advanced to the best-of-three Philippine Regional Championships of the 2018 PCCL National Collegiate Championship after surviving Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias, 72-68, last Wednesday, December 5, at the Arcadia Active Lifestyle Center in Davao City.

The Green Lancers also demolished Holy Trinity College of General Santos, 114-73 to win the Visayas/Mindanao Regional championship.

HTC also suffered a heartbreaking 90-88 loss to Negros Occidental-based CSAV Titans.

Meanwhile, with the win, the Green Lancers takes on Luzon/NCR regional champion Naga College Foundation for the regional championships.

The winner between UV and Naga College will face UAAP champion Ateneo de Manila University and the champion of the National Collegiate Athletic Association San Beda College coached by Negrense Boyet Fernandez in the best-of-three finals series.

PCCL, alongside the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, has organized inter-collegiate basketball tournaments among teams from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in a bid to further strengthen the collegiate basketball landscape through a nationwide school-based competition.
