Tropical storm may enter RP Saturday

A TROPICAL cyclone that intensified into tropical storm Megi may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility Saturday.

Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecaster Buddy Javier said in a radio interview that the storm if it enters the Philippine territory will be codenamed "Juan".

As of Thursday morning, Megi is at 1,665 kilometers east of Borongan, Eastern Samar. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour.

Pagasa added Megi is heading toward Philippine territory at seven kilometers per hour. (Sunnex)
