Violators of Comelec ban surge

MANILA -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested more than 300 violators of liquor ban as of 2 p.m. Monday since it was implemented 12:01 of Sunday.

In a text message from PNP spokesperson Agrimero Cruz, he also said the police force was able to confiscate 35 firearms since Sunday.

The total weapons collected by the PNP is now at 558 and 671 persons were arrested for violating Comelec gun ban from September 25 up to this posting.
