Cosplay Tanabata 7: The Harajuku Parade

Brenda Lee Villanueva

THE Cosplay Tanabata has been a yearly event with various activities such as the Orihime and Hikoboshi of the Night Cosplay (best kimono or yukata attire), Lolita fashion show, dance, singing and eating contests, and mini games with many giveaways and surprises!

This year’s theme: The Harajuku Parade, focuses on the fashion and concept of Harajuku which is fun, colorful and a stand out.

There were guests from Manila such as The Philippine Gothic Lolita Community, Keepsakes, Yu-En Cosplay, Arkadymac and others.

Exciting booths were in themes of Harajuku, Tanabata, Cosplay, Anime and Japan. There were unique merchandise and food booths.

Experience the booths of Gold fish scooping, Caramelized apples, Tanzaku wishes and Magic, the gathering and wearing of the kimono attire among others.

Kudos to organizers Clar Panganiban, Chairein Kris Cordoviz, Cielo Santos, Justine Marzan, Melanie Ong, Jenina Tamesa, and Lora Lopez and partners Rodney Arreola, Joseph Estacion, Johnson Bumidang and Droid Carreon. The Cosplay Tanabata was held last August 17 to 18 at the Newtown Plaza Event Center.

Looking forward to the next! Cheers!
