21 arrested for illegal drugs, gambling

EVEN with the ongoing pandemic, Police Regional Office–Cordillera (PRO-COR) remains relentless in the campaign against illegal drugs and gambling resulting to the arrest of 21 persons over the weekend.

On May 3, seven suspected illegal drug users were caught while in the act of having pot sessions in Barangay Bahong, La Trinidad, Benguet.

The suspects were identified as Jonathan Gabriel Nabe, Norson Palasi Cabigat, Perkins Galuba Bentriz, Johnson Visaya Lucas, Randy Palasi Cabigat, and Christian Lorence Puguon Doccog.

In Ifugao Province, Anselmo Pineda Nava was arrested in a drug bust in Ap-apid, Tinoc where one plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu”, drug bust money and one lighter were confiscated from his possession.

On May 2, Junior Ticnang, Richard Gannaban Bueno, and Arvin Rodico Alvendia were collared in Talaca, Agbanawag, Tabuk City, Kalinga in another drug bust. Confiscated from their possession are four plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Suspected drug personality Ull Bryner Carbonel was also arrested in Purok 7, San Juan, Tabuk City by virtue of a warrant of arrest after yielding one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, 16 heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing residues, and other drug paraphernalia.

In Abra Province, 10 individuals were caught in the act of gambling on May 1.

Arrested were Rodolfo Bandolin, Joseph Bisares, Jocelyn Buemio, Fernando Bandolin, Lolita Bisares and Salvador Buemio, all residents of Pidigan, Abra.

George Tamayo Isao, Romy Javier Ta-a, Dante Claor Cardona, and Walter Pacapac Blando, all residents of Barangay Badas, San Juan, Abra were also arrested for gambling on Saturday afternoon, May 2.
