59 Baguio-Benguet barangays up for labor force survey

PHILIPPINE Statistics Authority (PSA)-Benguet is undertaking the nationwide Labor Force Survey for January 2020.

Imelda Buyuccan, Benguet Chief Statistical Specialist disclosed the quarterly survey of different households gathers data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population.

Buyuccan added the survey covers 35 barangays from Baguio City and 24 barangays in the different municipalities of Benguet.

The survey seeks to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market.

“From these sample barangays, sample households will be interviewed by the assigned Statistical Researchers which started on January 9 and will end on January 31,” said Buyuccan adding computer assisted personal interviewing data collection will be employed.

PSA-Benguet urged the public most especially the selected sample households to cooperate in the conduct of the statistical activity.

“The office would like to extend its utmost gratitude to the public for their unending and continuous support to all the different surveys and censuses of the office,” she added.

Section 26 of Republic Act 10625 known as Philippine Statistical Act of 2013 states “the household supplied information will be held strictly confidential and the report cannot be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or enforcement procedure, nor will be published except in the form of statistical summaries in which no reference to any individual person shall appear.”

As of August 2015, the agency recorded 446,224 total population of the province excluding Baguio city with a population growth of 1.91 percent from 2010 to 2015.
