CLARK International Airport Corporation’s (CIAC) president and chief executive officer Alexander Cauguiran said continuous promotion of the airport is being done to strengthen the airport as a travel hub for the north.

Cauguiran during the Clark North Philippines Roadshow said talks with more airlines is ongoing to increase the current stable of carriers.

Despite looming talks on privatization, Cauguiran assured plans and projects for CIAC will continue as well as a commitment made to airlines operating.

Cauguiran added privatization plans will close by the end of the year when the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) finishes bidding for the project.

CIAC is now host to 12 international and domestic airlines in eight major cities in Asia and the Middle East and 19 domestic destinations.

Cauguiran said a critical mass of travelers has been accommodated by CIAC since 2017 with plans to increase and improve underway.

Plans to build a separate terminal for budget airlines will also push through according to the airport chief.

International flights include Incheon, Pusan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Doha, Qatar, Singapore, Dubai, Macau and Osaka.

Clark airport is accessible via NLEX and TPLEX.

Clark is batting to become the gateway to the north in the next five years with massive infrastructure plan to catapult the area into the next major hub for travel.

The master development plan includes the building of a new passenger terminal with an eight million-passenger capacity being implemented by the Department of Transportation and Railways.
