Cordillera police arrest 85 individuals

A WEEK long synchronized police operations conducted in the Cordillera region from May 27 to 31 led to the arrest of 85 wanted individuals including three listed as ten most wanted person (TMWP) for the second quarter of 2019.

Apayao’s sixth most wanted charged for the crime of seven counts of rape identified as Robert Acebedo was caught in Barangay Malibang, Pudtol, Apayao in the afternoon of May 31.

In Baguio City, Christopher Andres Akyapas, the 10th most wanted of Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 2 for theft, was cornered along Bokawkan Road in the afternoon of May 29 with a recommended a bail of P12,000 for his temporary liberty.

Emerson Das Licuanan, 30, a resident of Inequez Street, Dagupan Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga was cornered and arrested in Poblacion Centro, Dagupan, Tabuk City in the afternoon of May 30.

Licuanan is considered as the 6th TMWP of Naguillian, La Union who is believed to be the leader Licuanan Group involved in a series of carnapping and proliferation of unlicensed firearms in Naguilian, La Union and nearby provinces with recommended a bail bond of P300,000 for his temporary liberty.

BCPO had the highest number of arrest to 48, followed by Benguet Provincial Police Office (BPPO) with 13 arrests, Ifugao PPO with seveb, Apayao and Kalinga PPO with five each, Abra PPO with four and Mountain Province PPO with three.

Police Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson, Police Regional Office-Cordillera director, said the swift action of police will help improve the crime solution efficiency and unclog the number of unsolved cases in the region.
