LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Brand new vehicles, drones, and laptops were turned over to the Department of Education (DepEd) in Cordillera Administrative Region.

Education Undersecretary Alain del Pascua spearheaded Thursday, October 8, the turnover of vehicles and gadgets and the inauguration of the newly constructed school building at Benguet Sped Center in Wangal, La Trinidad.

Pascua said the vehicles will be utilized by disaster risk reduction (DRR) coordinators in times of emergency, calamity and crisis.

He recalled that in 2016, during a meeting with architects and engineers of DepEd, one of the requests raised was the need for vehicles to be used for inspection in far-flung areas.

The vehicles and drones, he said, will be utilized by engineers to maintain objectivity during site visits and to aid disaster risk reduction coordinators.

The laptops will be utilized by the youth coordinators, planning officers, and DRR coordinators while engineers, architects and coordinators will receive their own sets in the first quarter of 2021.

May Eclar, DepEd-Cordillera director, thanked the DepEd official for the newly purchased equipment and vehicles.

She said it is very timely and relevant to aid personnel in the delivery of services to the community.
