Farmer wanted for indiscriminate firing

Jonathan Llanes

POLICE are now conducting a manhunt against a farmer who indiscriminately fired his gun in the neighborhood.

Goodwin Wagwagon Lumiwan, 45, married, a construction worker and resident of Cogawi, Cudal, Tabuk City, accompanied by barangay captain Balmasida Magmoyao of Mabongtot, Lubuagan, Kalinga, reported to Lubuagan Municipal Police Station and filed a formal complaint against Jeffrey Dongga-as Bilong, alias Suggiyao, a farmer, for alarm and scandal.

Initial investigation revealed that in the morning of October 27, Bilong came out of his house holding a caliber .45 pistol. He then fired it to the house of Lumiwan, hitting the stairs. The bullet also went through an adjacent house owned by Nancy Bissonoc.

The incident allegedly emanated from a misunderstanding when Bilong got angry after Lumiwang and his siblings bought a pig from another person.

Lumiwang, together with the barangay officials and other residents, tried to pacify and arrest the suspect, but Bilong managed to escape, carrying with him the firearm.
