JAPANESE Masakazu Nose disclosed plans to return to the country specifically in Baguio City next month, not for vacation but to clean.

"I'm going to Baguio City of the Philippines on August 1 to 3. Let's clean up the city together. I'm planning to clean up the City on August 2 at 9 a.m. beside Baguio Center Mall Overpass so you can join me. Please prepare garbage bag and tong, thank you," Nose announced on July 13 in his Facebook page.

Back in 2016 and 2014, Nose can be seen with a pair of tongs and a garbage bag cleaning and picking up trash on the streets and overpass of Baguio City. He latter began to do painting the handles of overpass along Magsaysay Avenue, Malcolm Square and Harrison road.

The acts of the 45–year–old Japanese national, who considers the City of Pines as his second home, gained admiration from locals and netizens commending his cause.

Masakazu lives in Japan and manages a Soba (Japanese noodles) store. He stayed in Baguio while studying English and spent his free time picking up litter at the overpass and walkways in the city.

Meanwhile, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong on Wednesday announced a 1st City Wide Cleanup Day set on July 27 which seeks to empower every citizen of Baguio in keeping the summer capital clean.

The mayor urged residents to volunteer in their respective barangays next week to take selfies as proof of attendance.
