PRO-Cordillera personnel awarded

NINE personnel of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-COR) were awarded with the Philippine National Police (PNP) “Medalya ng Kagalingan” while two others were presented with the “Medalya ng Papuri” for their commensurate accomplishments on August 6 at Camp Bado Dangwa, in La Trinidad, Benguet.

The Medalya ng Kagalingan was awarded during the distinguished visitors program to Police Chief Inspector Pablo Emmanuel Nead, Senior Police Officer (SPO) 1 Robert Agdaca, and Police Officer (PO) 1 Rogdan Tabdi, all from the Baguio City Police Office for the successful arrest of Booyan Cangiti, listed as the fourth top most wanted person, station level, for frustrated and attempted homicide.

Police Chief Inspector Marlo Evasco, PO3 Patrick Lamog, and PO2 Marlon Verbo also from BCPO were awarded with Medalya ng Kagalingan for the successful arrest of Renato Esguerdo Busoy Jr., listed as the fifth top most wanted of the BCPO for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

The Medalya ng Papuri was awarded to SPO4 Allan Sumalde and SPO3 Jonathan Pocya, both of the Regional Intelligence Division, for the successful arrest of Reynaldo Tan Chavez a.k.a “Burdado” for violation of the comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 during a drug bust.

In line with the PNP’s welfare benefits program, pursuant to the provisions of R.A No. 4864, known as the Police Act of 1966 or the “Act granting special Financial Assistance and Benefits to the family of any police or military personnel or fireman killed or permanently incapacitated while in the performance of his duty or by reason of this office or position and for other purposes,” SPO3 Depayso Tomas Mondero and SPO3 Timothy Simsim, both retired from the PNP service due to total permanent physical disability (TTPD) as a result of service connected activities. They also received their gratuity checks during the program.

Benguet Vice Governor Florence Tingbaoen spearheaded the awarding of medals and assisted in the presentation of gratuity checks personally congratulated the awardees for their accomplishments.
