IN A bid to lessen the influx of vehicles in La Trinidad town during Holy Week, visitors and residents of Benguet’s capital town are urged anew to use public transportation.

Tourists visiting La Trinidad are also encouraged to carry their trash with them, their own eco-bag for their purchases, obey traffic rules and enforcers for their own safety and convenience, and obey the anti-smoking ordinance.

"With the influx of visitors comes the number of vehicles, we ask for the cooperation of the people of La Trinidad and visitors to utilize public transport to lessen vehicles in the municipality," said La Trinidad Police Chief Jeoffer Banglayan.

Banglayan earlier said the mayor met with the Philippine National Police, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, and Tourism office to talk about the pre-deployment of personnel from April 17 until 21.

Members of the reservists, MDRRMO, Municipal Health Office, and police interns will be providing assistance to all visitors.

Meanwhile, traffic flow in the vicinity of the strawberry farm will be made one way to avoid congestion.

Banglayan also urged motorists to check their vehicles’ condition and check their battery, lights, oil, water, brakes, air, gas, engine, tires, self (BLOWBAGETS) before traveling.
