THE La Trinidad municipal council approved on third and final reading on Tuesday, March 6, an ordinance that will grant financial incentives to traffic enforcers.

Under this new measure, each traffic enforcer under the traffic management section of the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station will get P500 per month.

Proposed by Councilor Roderick Awingan, the ordinance said traffic enforcers are exposed to physical risks and health hazards as they perform their duties and responsibilities.

"The maintenance of peace and order most especially the smooth flow of traffc in our major thoroughfares streets is a priority program of the Municipality," said Awingan. "It is imperative that enforcers be granted the necessary incentives to ensure effective performance in the orderly flow of traffic."

Cash incentive will be given to traffic enforcer assigned under the Traffic Management Section of the LTMPS, including members of the municipal auxiliary traffic enforcers regardless of their appointment whose primary duty are for the management of the flow of traffic and enforcement of traffic rules and regulations within the Valley.

The traffic enforcers must have rendered at least 120 duty hours in any capacity as certified by the human resource management officer of the municipality or the chief of police of the LTMPS.

The funds will be derived from collection of penalties for all traffic-related violations.
