THE Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental is planning to allot P2.5 million for the renovation of the Sapon Spring in Lagonglong town.

Although, the planned renovation will only push through once the town's local government unit will be able to get the spring back under their management.

According to Lagonglong Mayor Jap Puertas, they are ready to buy it from the heir of the Sapong Spring, adding that there is a 98 percent chance they will be able to purchase the spring and beautify it.

Nicole Managbanag, provincial information officer, meanwhile, said that the P2.5 million from the Provincial Government will be used to add tiles in the cold spring as part of its planned renovation.

“Yung hitsura ng spring kasi yung ordinary lang na pool na walang tiles. So lalagyan yan ng tiles, pero hindi yung tiles na yung the usual na pool na makikita natin (The spring looks like an ordinary pool with no tiles. So we will have it tiled but not the ordinary tiles that are commonly found in pools),” Managbanag said.

She added that the renovation of the Sapong Spring is part of Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano's plans to boost tourism in the province.
