14 residents in Cagayan de Oro contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office logged 14 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, all of which are local transmissions.

This brought the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 3,680.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 14 new local cases, five are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, eight are local index cases and one local authorized person outside residence (Apor).

Of the 3,680 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 422 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 3,258 cases are local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 394 active cases, 61 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 332 are outpatients, and one ROF/LSI.

The city also registered 24 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered," 19 of which were persons whose repeat swab tested negative while five were certified recovered. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 3,110.

Of the figure, 301 are LSIs, 118 are ROFs, and 2,690 are local cases (community: 2,269; Apors: 412).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 176.
