OPERATIVES arrested four persons for engaging into an illegal cards game locally known as “pyat-pyat.”

Police identified the suspects as Malvin Gumubao, 25, laborer; Julieve Flores, 34, jobless; Roland Viola, 39, motorela driver; and Hazel Caupit, 46, jobless.

The suspects are all residents of Purok-17C, Polinar Village, Hagkol, Barangay Poblacion, Valencia City, Bukidnon who were caught in the act committing illegal gambling activity on Wednesday night, November 26.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint from a concerned citizen who called Valencia City police regarding the noisy illegal gambling activity.

"Aside nga banha kaayo sila, gakakuratan mi sa ilaha kay gakagubot sila. Gaawayay sila nga nagasugal," the complaint reads.

Seized items were a set of playing cards and money who was believed to be proceeds of the illegal gambling activity.

Arrested suspects will face charges for Violation of R.A. 9287 which prohibits illegal gambling.
