PUBLIC Works Secretary Mark Villar said on Tuesday that his department had blacklisted some 17 contractors for failing to meet deadlines of the projects awarded to them.

Villar said at least 5 contractor firms are based in Mindanao.

"Naghahanap pa kami, so kung may information kayo, pwede n'yong i-forward sa akin para ma-aksyonan agad, wala na kaming tolerance," Villar said in an interview, during the inauguration of the flood control project in Tagoloan, Tuesday.

Villar said the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) wants all of its projects completed before the Duterte administration ends.

"Actually under this term, ito na yung pinakamaraming contractors na na blacklist so tuloy-tuloy naman. Kami naman importante sa amin,gusto talaga namin matapos ang projects before or during our term," he said.

Once a contractor is blacklisted, the DPWH will bid out the project to other contractors.
