AROUND 6,000 individuals have received their first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine during the first two days of the vaccination rollout in three vaccination sites in Cagayan de Oro City on June 16 and 17.

Dr. William Bernardo, the City Health Insurance Office-Data Management Task Group head, said those who received their first dose are from the priority groups A1 healthcare workers, A2 senior citizens, and A3 persons with comorbidities.

Bernardo said 4,313 individuals were vaccinated with the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in SM CDO Downtown Premier and Limketkai Mall vaccination sites on June 16 and 17.

"We are fast-tracking this to consume the Pfizer so that there will be continuity and sustainability in our vaccination program. Pfizer is also very critical, especially the handling," Bernardo said.

Cagayan de Oro recorded more than 1,000 average daily vaccinees who got their dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in the vaccination sites of SM CDO Downtown Premier, Limketkai Mall, and Centrio Ayalaa Mall, according to Bernardo.

The city received 35,000 doses of Pfizer earlier this week. A total of 17,500 individuals from priority groups A1, A2, and A3 are expected to receive two doses of this vaccine.
