63 Cagayan de Oro residents contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office recorded 63 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which were local transmissions, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the city to 9,984.

Of the 63 new local cases, 29 were local index cases, 23 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, six were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), one was an Apor with link, one was a person deprived of liberty (PDL), and three mortalities.

Cagayan de Oro logged 1,063 active cases, 325 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, and 738 were outpatients.

The city also registered 57 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 8,450.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was now at 471.

Meanwhile, the total number of Covid-positive vaccinated individuals in Cagayan de Oro was now at 826, city epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported on Wednesday, June 30.

According to Retuya, of the 826 vaccinees, 562 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine, 228 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, 27 with Pfizer, six with Sputnik V, and three Sinopharm.

Of the 562 Covid-positive Sinovac vaccinees, 405 individuals were experiencing mild symptoms, 124 were asymptomatic, 29 were moderate cases, and four were severe cases.

Among the 228 AstraZeneca vaccinees, 155 individuals had mild symptoms, 53 were asymptomatic, 19 had moderate symptoms, and one was a severe case.
