Covid-19 recoveries in Cagayan de Oro now at 100

Jo Ann Sablad

THE total number of people who have recovered from coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Cagayan de Oro has reached 100 after repeat tests of six patients yielded negative results Tuesday, August 4.

All of the new Covid-19 recoveries are locally stranded individuals (LSIs), City Health Office Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said.

Those who have recovered are a 15-year-old female LSI from Taguig City but a resident of Barangay Kauswagan; a 27-year-old male LSI from Taguig but a resident of Barangay Bugo; a 45-year-old male LSI from Parañaque City but a resident of a gated community in Barangay Carmen; a 37-year-old female LSI from Manila but a resident of Barangay Macabalan; a 48-year-old male LSI from Manila but a resident of Barangay Indahag; and a 31-year-old female LSI from Marikina City but a resident of Barangay Gusa.

Meanwhile, Mayor Oscar Moreno said Cagayan de Oro sits on a manageable level, as the city registered 13.79 percent critical care utilization rate (CCUR) and 15.86 percent case doubling time in the latest report of the Feasibility Analysis of Syndromic Surveillance using Spatio-Temporal Epidemiological Modeler (Fassster) Philippines.

The critical level or threshold of CCUR is at 30 percent while the case doubling time is at seven percent, which means that the lower CCUR and the higher case doubling time says that the status of the city during the pandemic is in good condition.

The Fassster Philippines is an evidence-based, web-based forecasts of possible cases and scenarios on the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
