CAGAYAN de Oro City Second District Representative Rufus Rodriguez said over the weekend that health workers exposed to Covid-19 patient who died in the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) are now quarantined in a facility donated by a "good samaritan."

Rodriguez said only the officials of the Department of Health (DOH) in Northern Mindanao know the location of the facility.

"It is the regional director of DOH who will only know the place," Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez earlier said his office is helping the DOH-Northern Mindanao to look for a facility that would house health workers who would undergo quarantine.

He also said the inter-agency emergency operations center at a hotel here is now fully operational.

The Kagay-anon lawmaker also announced that his office is coordinating with the Department of Social Welfare and Development regarding the giving of food packs to those who will no longer have income in the coming weeks, especially families of "trisikad," jeepney and motorela drivers.

Rodriguez said his office is open to receive donations to be given to those who need assistance including the frontliners.

"It has been more than two weeks now that I have been doing necessary steps to help solve some issues and problems in our province and city. I'm doing everything and constantly coordinating with our local and national leaders to be able to help and address the concerns of our people and community," Rodriguez said.

In the national efforts, Rodriguez has already filed several bills seeking appropriation for labor, tourism and business sectors affected by the health crisis.

"In this most trying times, indeed, we have to work as one. I'm humbly asking everyone to follow the government in all its mandates," Rodriguez added.
