Jo Ann Sablad

ILIGAN City has recorded three persons who are positive with the Covid-19 variant P.3. per result from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM), according to the city's health office.

In its advisory, the City Health Office said it is currently investigating and reviewing the cases and identifying the three cases' closed contacts.

The public was advised to always practice minimum public health standards such as wearing of face mask and face shield, frequent hand washing and social/physical distancing.

Cagayan de Oro City epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya, for his part, said they will have to wait for the report from the Department of Health on the genome sequencing to determine their next course of action of the possibility of this variant entering the city.

"Depende sa Department of Health kay sila ma'y magpadala sa atong mga samples ngadto sa kauluhan for sequencing para mahibal-an kung unsa nga variant," Retuya said.

"Maghulat ta sa report gikan sa Department of Health," he added.
