Misamis Oriental restricts entry of sick passengers

MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny Emano has ordered all town and city mayors in the province to put up a temporary holding area at the quarantine control points for passengers with fever.

Under the executive order issued by the governor, those with fever and have 37.7 degree Celsius body temperature or more will be sent back to their place of origin.

This came after the province was placed under general community quarantine from March 24 to April 14.

Emano directed mayors of Magsaysay and Lugait towns to set up checkpoints at the quarantine station where all passengers of both public and private vehicles must step on foot-bath and have their body temperatures taken.

Every checkpoint must designate a separate lane for vehicles with plate numbers ending 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, and 9 and 0, a mechanism shall be adopted for this matter to ensure smooth and orderly conduct.

Checkpoints must also establish a separate lane for private vehicles or cargo trucks carrying food supplies, animal food, agricultural products, chicken and other poultry products, hogs, cattle, fuels, medicines, medical supplies, and medical equipment that must pass through with ease at all times.

All municipal and city mayors are requested to designate a public transport stop in their municipality or city. All public transportation companies plying the Misamis Oriental route must strictly load and unload passengers at the public transport terminal or designated bus stop as they will be informed of the policy while the province is under community quarantine.

Magsaysay and Lugait town mayors will take charge of the opening and closing of roads at the quarantine stations during the curfew hours from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The municipalities of Tagoloan and Opol must designate a checkpoint on the border of Malitbog, Sta. Ana for Tagoloan and Bagocboc Opol, Misamis Oriental.

As the presence of the police, military and force multipliers is requested in the checkpoints, the mayors of Lugati and Magsaysay are also requested to supply the PNP and its force multipliers with food and water. Other mayors are directed to help and give support. to the host municipalities.

All town mayors are authorized to impose additional measures as they may deem necessary after proper consultation with the Provincial Health Office, police and other concerned agencies.
