MISAMIS Oriental Provincial Board member president Elipe is urging telecommunication companies to establish communication services along the provincial highways to ensure that motorists and commuters can immediately seek help during emergency situations.

Elipe said he has noticed that there are still portions of highways in the province that do not have communication signals.

This prompted him to pass a resolution “requesting the different telecommunication companies to provide communication services that would cater to commuting public of the different highways specifically the portion of Claveria-Gingoog road.”

“Kung dunay mga aberya or emergency dili dayon katawag og rescue kay walay signal, busa atong giaghat ang mga telcos nga mag-establish og signal sa mga highways,” Elipe said.

Elipe, who seeks the vice-gubernatorial post in May elections, said his colleagues in the capitol's legislative body has been supportive of his move which aims to ensure safety of the public while traversing the provincial roads and highways.

He is also hoping that telecommunication firms will swiftly act and address his concern.

“Atong hangyo nga mahatagayon gilayon kini og aksyon sa mga telcos,” he said.
