CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno on Tuesday, February 19, said he would rather resign as mayor after this May 2019 elections if former mayor Vincente "Dongkoy" Emano will be elected as vice mayor.

The tongue-in-cheek statement was made during his speech at the turnover of another six classrooms to Man-ai National High School, where Moreno emphasized the need to choose officials who will support his administration.

In an interview, Moreno said if Emano wins, his difficult experience during his first term as mayor will be repeated, when there where zero support from the city council for his proposed projects.

"Of course sinamok lang gihapon sya, ngano pa, mao nga hangyo gyud na. Si Kikang maayo baya, maayo kaayo among partnership.

Moreno said the city needs to sustain its momentum, and maintain the good relationship with the city councilors.

"I need him (Kikang)," Moreno said.
