Only 2 new Covid-19 cases logged in Cagayan de Oro

THE number of new coronavirus infections in Cagayan de Oro has gone all the way down, as the city recorded only two new Covid-19 cases, the City Health Office reported Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

This brought the number of Covid-19 cases in the city to 25,840.

According to the City Health Office medical officer Dr. Teodoro Yu Jr., the two new local index cases involve a vaccinated 73-year-old male from Barangay Patag and an unvaccinated 60-year-old female from Barangay Bugo.

Cagayan de Oro's active cases have also gone down to four, of which two were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and two were outpatients.

The city also registered one new coronavirus-positive person who was now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 24,896.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remained at 940.
