Over 14,000 business permits renewed in Oro

A TOTAL of 14,616 businesses in Cagayan de Oro have their permits renewed as of January 27, 2023, the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) reported.

According to BPLO head Jason Adaza, this is 40 percent more than what they recorded in 2022 of the same period, with only 10,231 business permits renewed.

Of the total establishments that renewed their business permits this year, 969 opted to do their business permit renewal transaction via online.

The BPLO also recorded 517 businesses in the city that have applied for business permit as of January 27, 2023.

Based on the report from the BPLO, of the 14,616 establishments, 2,880 are retailers, 2,160 are services, 1,906 are sari-sari stores, 948 lessors, and 311 general merchandise.

The BPLO expects 20,000 businesses in Cagayan de Oro to renew their business permit by the end of the renewal period, which is on February 28, 2023.
