Partido Federal no endorsement in Oro’s mayoral race yet

PJ Orias

EVEN without a standard bearer now, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) has no plans yet to throw its support or endorse a mayor outside their party, Lourdes Candy Darimbang said.

Darimbang, who has backed out from the mayoral race said PFP has "no plan yet to endorse candidates outside our party unless the candidates are our ally".

"At this point in time, we will focus with our party candidates," she added.

In the event that other parties might ask for their support, Darimbang said she "still has to discuss with her party mates" before deciding.

Darimbang has withdrawn from the mayoral race and will instead act as campaign manager of the said party.

She said she was offered a job in the Marawi rehabilitation.

Darimbang, during the filing of certicate of candidacy (COC), said there was supposed to be a coalition between the PFP, Centrist Democratic Party (CDP), and Padayon Pilipino but was not realized due to failed negotiations.

She said she was disappointed because the Padayon Pilipino and the CDP had picked another running mate for the coalition's standard bearer Jose Gabriel “Pompee” La Viña, which is former city mayor Vicente "Dongkoy" Emano, and not her.

With Darimbang's withdrawal, the city's mayoral race is now down to four, incumbent City Mayor Oscar Moreno, and challengers Pompee La Viña, Ben Contreras, and Felix Borres.
