THE chief of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Northern Mindanao has led the blessing and turnover rites of the newly issued vehicles to the different police units in the region at the regional headquarters in Camp Alagar, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City, on Friday, May 18.

The 12 units Patrol Jeep Single Cab (Toyota Hilux) and a Toyota Innova were issued by the Directorate of Logistics, National Headquarters, in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Among the units and police stations to receive the police-marked vehicles are Baungon, Impasug-ong, Kadingilan, Lantapan, Malitbog, and Maramag town police in Bukidnon including the provincial headquarters.

Also recipients of the vehicles are the police headquarters of Camiguin and Lanao del Norte.

The turnover of the vehicles underlines the Philippine National Police's (PNP) sincerity and commitment to support the PRO-Northern Mindanao unit troops movement and deployment and other special operations.

The PRO-Northern Mindanao said this will help the internal security operations, civil assistance during civic actions, relief and search and rescue and other related operation against criminality and insurgency in the region.

PRO-Northern Mindanao director Chief Superintendent Timoteo Pacleb said he wants his men and women in the field to be adequately equipped to counter terrorism and criminality.

"They must use their guns primarily to safeguard the public," Pacleb said.
