AROUND 20 containers of diesel were confiscated from makeshift shafts during the road clearing on Wednesday, February 19, along the national highway in Barangay Tablon, Cagayan de Oro City.

According to Antonio Resma Jr., the inspectorate team leader of the Regulatory Compliance Board (RCB), the 400 to 500 liters of diesel were now in the possession of the Police Station 10.

Resma said he also verified to the people around the area that there were trucks that allegedly provided the owner of the makeshift shafts with diesel which were sold to jeepney drivers who stop over the shop.

“I verified sa mga tao within the area, allegedly maraming mga trucks na pumupunta doon possibly nagbebenta ng diesel nila at marami ding mga jeepneys na nagsta-stop over dun possibly they would buy those diesel products na kinukuha from the trucks,” Resma said.

The owner of the makeshift shafts, Resma said, will be charged with violation of the Presidential Decree 1865, which prohibits illegal trading of petroleum products.

“We will push through with the case filing and possible legal action,” Resma said.
