Steady decline in Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN de Oro has seen a steady decline in new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases as the city logged less than 10 cases for weeks.

As of March 24, Cagayan de Oro has recorded three new local index cases, bringing the cumulative number of infections to 25,782.

According to the City Health Office medical officer Dr. Teodoro Yu Jr., the three local index cases involve a 67-year-old male from Barangay Kauswagan, a 48-year-old male from Barangay Camaman-an, and a 35-year-old female from Barangay Carmen. All of them were vaccinated.

Cagayan de Oro's active cases have also gone down to 26, of which 13 were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city and 13 were outpatients.

The city also registered six new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered." This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 24,822.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remains at 934 in total.
