POLICE are still facing a blank wall on the identity of the assailants and the motives in the killing of a couple in Quezon, Bukidnon early Wednesday, February 12.

The victims were identified as Wilfredo and Mary Grace Amarillo.

Investigation disclosed that the couple was allegedly abducted in Lilingayon, Valencia City and was made to ride on a pick-up truck.

Operatives immediately responded to the crime scene when an informant called the police that the wife was lying on the road wounded and was asking for help.

Major Mitchel Clemencio, Quezon town police chief, said the wife was brought to the hospital but died shortly. She died of multiple hacked and stabbed wounds on her body.

Police looked for the body of the husband and found it at the sugarcane plantation some 100 meters from the main road. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his body.

Investigators recovered fired cartridge cases of a 12 gauge shotgun, and 9mm caliber pistol.

"Gipalawman pa nato ang imbestigasyon," Clemencio said.

Bukidnon Police Provincial Police Director Colonel Roel Lami-ing ordered the Quezon town police to conduct thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Mobile patrol in the area was also intensified to prevent similar incidents to happen.
