A TRICAB driver was arrested for allegedly raping his nine-year-old stepdaughter in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental last week.

The victim first reported it to her 14-year-old brother last May 2019. However, fearing for his safety and his sister’s, he did not report it to the police.

It was only last September 30 when the victim told a neighbor about her situation, when the incident was finally reported to police.

This paper withheld the name of the suspect as per police’s request.

Meanwhile, the victim’s brother also turned over 1 unit of .38 revolver allegedly owned by the suspect. He said the suspect or their stepfather, uses it to harass their mother.

The victim added that the gun was also used on her when she was raped.

The victim was then brought to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and had undergone psychiatric intervention.

The suspect is facing rape charges and currently detained at the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail.
