MOTORISTS will have to brace another round of fuel price hikes starting Tuesday as fuel companies announced the impending increase.

This marks the second straight week of increases for diesel and kerosene.

In an advisory, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. said it will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P2.70, diesel by P6.55, and kerosene by P5.45.

Cleanfuel and PTT Philippines will implement the same changes for gasoline and diesel.

The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will implement the changes at 8:01 a.m. on the same day.

Other firms have yet to make announcements for the week.

Domestic pump prices have been on an uptrend for most of the year, with only eight weekly rollbacks implemented in 2022.

Latest data from the Department of Energy showed that year-to-date adjustments stand at a net increase of P23.85 per liter for gasoline, P30.30 per liter for diesel, and P27.65 per liter for kerosene as of May 31, 2022.
