Gaisano-led Metro Retail stores attain 100% compliance with DTI Safety Seal

Sunnexdesk

METRO Retail Stores Group Inc. (MRSGI) has now made all of its 61 branches nationwide compliant with the Department of Trade and Industry’s Safety Seal Certification.

Shoppers going to any Metro Retail branch can be assured that the strictest health protocols are in place to put their minds at ease over any safety and sanitation concerns.

MRSGI said the Safety Seal certification is a prominent reassurance of its in-store enforcement of health measures set by the government, which include having ample hand sanitizing areas, strict social distancing, and the use of StaySafe.ph and other applicable contact tracing tools of the local authorities.

On top of these are other initiatives in place to give its store frontliners equal protection and confidence in the performance of their duties.

In addition to wearing masks and face shields, all personnel are required to put on cleaning gloves and other personal protective equipment. Break times are also regulated in multiple schedules to avoid crowding in employee canteen areas. There is also a dedicated sanitation team that regularly cleans and disinfects common areas, pushcarts, checkout counters, door handles, service stations, parking, hallways and outdoor public spaces.
