Satanista vs. Sabrina

Clint Fabiosa and Ana Liza Villamor

BBC reports that the Satanic Temple activist group sued the producers of the TV series “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” for copyright infringement.

The Satanic Temple avers that the Sabrina makers copied the statue of the goat god “Baphomet” in the TV program. The suit seeks US$50 million in damages.

The Sabrina show on Netflix is about a half-mortal, half-witch teenager based on a comic book which was the inspiration for the TV show “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.”

The Satanic Temple, which was organized in 2012, seeks to ensure the separation of church and state and holds Satan as a symbol of "opposition to arbitrary authority." It does not believe in Satan as a god.
