Excited for ‘Cry No Fear’

Roger Serna

HORROR and suspense movies occupy the topmost rung in my hierarchy of favorite movie genres. These already includes those that feature superheroes.

Family drama ranks third, followed by comedy. Action movies that are run-of-the-mill type usually don’t attract my attention that much.

Language is not a factor since I patronize practically movies from different countries like those that are shown in festivals.

Last week, I saw the trailer of Viva Films’ coming flick “Cry No Fear” and I got interested in it. When I read the movie’s promotional materials, I learned that the director, Richard Somes, had already made a string of horror flicks, another plus factor.

The movie is topbilled by Ella Cruz and Donnalyn Bartolome and supported by Lito Pimentel, Lander Vera-Perez, Christopher Roxas and Patricia Javier, among others.

I might be among the early birds when the movie opens on June 20.

Allow me to congratulate Convergys for holding its regular event, Convergys Younified: Hugyaw 2018 on Sunday. It is said to be the biggest BPO (business process outsourcing) multi-event employee program in Cebu.

Venue of the event is the University of Southern Philippines Foundation gym. The activity starts at 10 a.m. I’ll drop by if my schedule permits.

When almost everyone I know rooted for the team of LeBron James last year, I immediately decided to side with whichever played against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

So when the Golden State Warriors showed power last year, I became a fan. With the repeat of the Warriors’ victory this year, I joined the merriment of the Warriors’ fans around the world.
