MISS Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach congratulated the newly-crowned Miss Universe Catriona Gray, who won the pageant yesterday in Thailand.

In her Instagram account @piawurtzbach, Wurtzbach said that Catriona captured the hearts of everyone right from the start.

"You started strong and captured our hearts with your grace, commitment and fearlessness!" she posted.

Wurtzback also made mention of Gray's walk, which had become a hot topic for this year's Miss Universe.

"How could anyone forget that walk?"

"This is just the beginning. Congratulations, Miss Universe 2018 @catriona_gray! You have made us all proud! Raise your flag!" Wurtzbach added.
