Better latte than never

Christian Jay B. Quilo

ASIDE from Christmas songs on loop, the arrival of the ‘ber months also means one thing: Sweater weather. Even though the climate in Cebu is perennially humid and tropical, the last quarter of the year sees a pleasant slight drop in temperature which means, there’s nothing more perfect to combat the chill than with a warm creamy latte. While you can never go wrong with a classic no-frills version, a fun-flavored iteration is a welcome change.

To keep warm this season, here are four flavored lattes you can try in Cebu:

Matcha Latte

by D:matcha Kyoto

The matcha latte is probably the most common flavored latte nowadays, but what sets D:matcha apart is its attention to detail and quality of ingredients.

One can opt for the set which includes a cup of matcha latte and a matcha sponge cake. D:matcha Kyoto is located in Ikkousha Ramen, ground floor of Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

Ube Latte

by Soho Park

We’ve all had ube ice cream, ube cake, and other sweet iterations of our native purple yam; but what about an ube version of our favorite latte? The addition of ube adds a sweet nuttiness to the caffeinated concoction.

Soho Park is located on the ground floor of Asia Premier Residences in Cebu IT Park.

Sweet Potato Latte

by The Civet Coffee Roasters

Taste-wise, this drink is more sweet potato than coffee. So if you like your latte on the sweeter side, this one is worth a try. It’s quite impressive how they were able to harness the flavor of the sweet potato and incorporate it into the drink. The Civet Coffee Roasters has several stores in Cebu City and Mactan.

Rose Latte

by Bo’s Coffee

The classic latte is given a delicate twist with subtle floral notes of rose. The latte itself is topped with a bunch of rose petals for an Instagram-worthy finish. Bo’s has several locations in Cebu. You can also order your drink ahead through the Advance Ordering BOTTY System on Messenger. (S)
