Chinatown in Mandani Bay

Sunnexdesk

MANDANI Bay welcomed the Year of the Earth Pig with its annual Chinatown event showcasing the culture of the Chinese community in Cebu. The rain did not stop the guests in witnessing the extended celebration of the Chinese New Year, with the second Chinatown event in Mandani Bay—a weekend filled with jam-packed activities.

The event last Feb.15 and 16 featured live music and cultural performances from Guang Ming Institute Cebu, and an outdoor market highlighting Chinese food and products. There were lion and dragon dances as well to bring good luck and fortune. According to feng shui, this year is a year of good fortune and investments.

The weekend celebration concluded with a fireworks display to welcome the Year of the Earth Pig. This year’s Chinatown in Mandani Bay celebration is co-organized with District Events. (Matthew Sulla,USC Intern)
