Cuenco: Pamper yourself pink

Joanna Cuenco

PINK October is here, and to show its support for breast cancer awareness, Mira Beauty by Design is offering free haircuts the entire month to those who wish to donate their hair to cancer survivors. The hair will be made into wigs through the Locks of Love project with the Zugbuana Jaycees. To be eligible, hair should be ideally at least 10 inches long, and may be colored but not bleached, rebonded or permed.

If you’ve been putting off getting a notice-me hair color, this might just be the month to try Mira’s hair coloring services. The salon specializes in creating multidimensional hair colors using premium Italian products from Selective Professional. While their team can do “regular” hair color if one wants to go for a lighter brunette or blonde, they can also create these pink, red, or rose gold looks that are uniquely flattering on every client.

For those, like me, who work corporate and can’t express our inner mermaid with pink or purple hair, try on pink nails instead. Mira has a range of colors from hot pink to Essie’s Ballet Slippers polish, whose cult following is said to include Queen Elizabeth herself. Other specialty treatments include Gelish Polygel nail extensions in light pink, which can be worn on their own or painted as you please, and the Zoya Naked Manicure, which strengthens even brittle or discolored nails while giving them a natural, healthy look.

Mira Beauty by Design has branches in the basement level of Robinsons Galleria Cebu and the Wellness Zone of Marco Polo Plaza Cebu.
