Espina: Festival food

Mila C. Espina

We had a great time at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. We had a taste of “Hot Sizzling Asia,” a first at El Viento: Crispy pork sisig with fried egg, Japan’s pork cutlet with java curry sauce, Korea’s cabbage kimchi, India’s buttered chicken with papad and chutney, Vietnam’s caramelized shrimp tom rim; Singapore’s char siu pork, China’s Meltique beef tendon with garlic chives, Malaysia’s goat trotters curry, and Thailand’s dried seafood tom yam.

Then, we proceeded to Hai Shin Lou for the Prosperity Menu. It was really festive and delectable.

Cebu’s favorite Cantonese restaurant ushers in the Year of the Water Rabbit, with three specially curated New Year set menus to celebrate with family and friends. Likewise, Hai Shin Lou offers Nian Gao, traditional glutinous rice cakes made from their own kitchens.
